Premold Corp. is a custom molder of plastic parts.   We provide a full range of reaction injection molding (RIM) services to ensure the success of your project.   These can include free design feedback, consultation or assistance, quality assurance planning, and project management in addition to the services listed below.   Our customer service team supplements your purchasing and engineering teams to help ensure a smooth flow of product from our factory to your dock.

Tool Making

Premold Corp. has the capacity to produce over a dozen tools simultaneously.   Our in-house journeymen tool and die makers use full CNC capability to produce new molds.   We can also make engineering changes quickly in-house.   These in-house capabilities also enhance tool maintenance.   In addition, Premold Corp. teams with several local tool shops to supplement our tool making capacity.   We have long-term relationships with these shops.   We've trained them to produce quality Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) tools quickly, to our specifications.

With this highly effective team we can produce low cost Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) molds at several price points with a tool-life to fit your project and budget needs.   Giving you options means you don't have to spend more on tooling than you need to meet your product's volume expectations.   We can produce small molds or large molds in either aluminum or machined epoxy.   We can custom design and produce full aluminum molds with water lines and ejector systems or basic molds without water lines or ejector systems.   This allows you to use our Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) molding process for prototyping, for short-term or short-run production and for other low volume needs.

Our low cost mold construction also means shorter tooling lead times.   This allows you to get your products to market faster.

Prototypes

Premold Corp. provides fast prototype parts.   Your production parts may even be designed for a different process like injection molding but our cast urethane prototypes save you time and money.

Stereo Lithography models generated from your CAD files can be used to create silicone molds and as many urethane parts as you need with very short lead times.   These prototype molds can serve as bridge tooling until your production molds are completed.

A great advantage of Premold Corp. providing both prototypes and production Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) parts is that Premold can provide design advice during the prototyping stage.   This allows you to test the parts in their production configuration instead of having to make design changes after prototyping.   We also save you time because you only need to communicate your needs once to Premold Corp. to cover both your prototype and production needs.

Premold Corp's Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process delivers economical short runs of reaction injection molded plastic parts.   We can ship these low-volume quantities for just-in-time (JIT) deliveries.   Low-quantities and JIT keeps inventories and costs to a minimum and allows you greater flexibility to make design changes.   Premold's different types of low cost Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) tooling offers you more short run options.   Our process can be used for prototypes, limited production or bridge tooling.

Premold Corp. is a custom molder specializing in the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process.   We specialize in serving OEM's of specialty equipment who need low volumes or short runs of injection molded plastic parts.   Our solid and foamed polyurethane materials are well suited for use on medical, laboratory or other specialty machines.   Our parts provide beautiful appearances, thin wall UL flammability ratings and excellent mechanical properties.

Premold Corp. performs custom molding, insert molding, encapsulation molding, inserting, finishing, painting, texturing, EMI coating, silk screening, decorating and assembly, all in-house.   We are a single source for your plastic part needs.   Our new 20,000 sq. ft. factory provides plenty of space for us to take on your project.

Premold Corp. offers a range of high quality polyurethane plastic materials for the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process.   We monitor developments in the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) industry to offer you the best materials on the market.   We have materials that offer UL94V-O flammability rating with as low as 1/8" wall thickness.   We offer low-density materials for thermal and acoustic insulation and thick wall capabilities.   We process Bayer's Prism CM200 and Baydur resins.   We also process Carpenter Corporation's Instant Set Polymer (ISP) resin.

We use the finest paints available on the market: Sherwin Williams' Polane cosmetic paints and Spraylat's conductive paint for EMI protection.

Finish Painting (more info)

Premold Corp. paints all your plastic molded parts in-house as part of our finish painting operations.   We use Sherwin Williams' Polane low VOC, wet spray and other top quality paints.   Custom paint colors and textures are precisely matched to your product specifications.   Our quality assurance systems ensure that your color, gloss and texture specifications are met.

Paint masking is also performed in-house.   This gives you the flexibility to specify multi-colored painted parts from us.

EMI Painting

Premold Corp. maintains UL recognition to apply top quality EMI coatings to your custom molded plastic parts.   This saves you time and money because every part we deliver to you can be a UL recognized component.   Our EMI coated parts provide highly effective EMI shielding for your enclosures.   Our coatings are so effective that costly EMI gaskets are not usually required.

Decorating

We can deliver your parts complete with silk-screened or pad-printed letters and logos.   These options give you tremendous flexibility to decorate your parts while saving you time and money.   Premold Corp. is your single source for ready-to-install plastic parts and subassemblies.

Assembly

Premold Corp. saves you time and money by providing many value-added services.   These include sourcing, procurement and assembly of component parts.   We source and procure a wide range of parts from metal to plastic and from standard hardware to custom parts.   All types of mechanical and electro-mechanical components may be incorporated into subassemblies shipped from Premold.
